Celebrity fashion: the forbidden fruit

Clearly you don't want to own every top Nicole Richie has ever worn, but the painful truth is that every now and then, we all see an article of clothing in Us magazine that we become a bit obsessed with. Here are our three favourite web stores that specifically offer celebrity style, whether it be real or fake:

ASOS
An acronym for "as seen on screen," ASOS is a British site that carries oodles of deliciously trendy items accompanied by a byline that describes which celebrity was seen wearing something similar. A few of the comparisons between what the star actually wore and the ASOS items are a bit of a stretch, but the site is most definitely worth a visit. It's a rare gem in that it's inexpensive (convert prices from pounds to your desired currency on the left of the page) and almost every item inspires cries of "I want that!" (at least for me).
Some of our favourites from ASOS:
Famous Fashions Found
This web store focuses on "everyday" basics (fancy sweaters, top-of-the-line tshirts), celebrity style. You can browse by TV show, movie, and magazine, making it very easy to track down particular items. You'll find the real deal here (e.g. Lily McNeal, Mint, and Rebecca Taylor) as opposed to knockoffs, so expect corresponding prices. Take a look.
Famous Style
Their "As Seen on Celebs" section allows you to browse through recent shots of the rich and famous wearing items that you can buy with the click of a mouse. Admittedly, there's a heavy emphasis on Jessica Simpson, but the easy-to-navigate, adorable website makes up for that. Every item also has a handy "Style Guide" that gives you the lowdown on how the garment will fit.

Online jewelry shopping done right

Shopping for jewelry online can be extremely satisfying. Unlike pants, jewelry won't give you love handles even if you don't really have them, or turn out to be mysteriously see-through like that camisole you bought online last month (not even a nude bra will help). With jewelry, you look at the photo, you decide if the price is right, and you make your purchase. It's especially great for gift-giving, too - and Mother's Day is coming up. The following are some of the best spots on the internet for gorgeous, one-of-a-kind jewelry:
Tiffini Dooris: Making gold classy again with her delicate pieces that use soft, rounded pearls and gemstones. Her pink coral jewelry is truly striking, too.
Space Mermaid: Combine whimsy, pretty metals, and seahorses, and you get Space Mermaid. You'll absolutely fall in love with what designer Stephanie Carbone can do with semiprecious stones, freshwater pearls, crystals, and shells. Be prepared for a wonderful regression to a time when you believed in fairies.
Kelly Meeker Designs: It's Kelly's blend of unique and classic touches that make us wish we had something of hers to wear to every occasion. Her jewelry is either one of a kind or extremely limited-edition, and it's all breathtaking.
