Coutorture launch

Well, it's Sunday night - a time for surfing the web while you try to put out of your mind the fact that you need to go to bed in two hours and that seven or so hours after that, you'll be getting up to start your workweek.

In case you could use some direction with that denial-based perusal of the www, we're going to suggest that you take a look at Coutorture, a new community for fashion lovers, fashion connoisseurs, fashion industry types, and basically anyone else who ever cared about style on the internet.

At Coutorture, you'll find lots of fodder for fashion inspiration in the form of articles, news, opinion pieces, and podcasts & video. So take a look - you've got 1 hour and 59 minutes to fill before lights out.

Whatever happened to originality?

True or false: there are too many solid-colored garments in this world.

I say true. When it comes to clothes, there's very little more boring than a life without pattern. Last night I found myself shopping with my boyfriend in a little store that was filled with nothing but entirely blue tshirts, entirely yellow sweaters, and entirely red tank tops - etc. Not to mention that everything was 100% cotton. Clearly this was a recipe for distinct lack of fashion inspiration. It's far more satisfying to shop at stores that eschew "basics" and instead offer clothes that will make you feel fabulous (yes, it's one or the other. Basics are never fabulous, as practical and "useful" as they may be).

/End rant.
